Privacy Policy

Introduction

Beacon54 is a DBA of The CybrThugs, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the Beacon54 website, contact Beacon54 through the website, or use software published under the Beacon54 name.

Products Covered

This policy covers the Beacon54 website and Beacon54 software products unless a product provides a separate privacy policy. A product-specific policy may describe behavior unique to that product and controls for that product where it differs from this policy.

Appearance in the Beacon54 software catalog does not, by itself, mean that an application collects information. Collection by an individual product will be described in that product's own policy when applicable.

Information We May Collect

The web server may keep ordinary technical logs needed to operate and secure the site, such as request paths, timestamps, response status, browser information, and network information.

When first-party analytics are enabled, Beacon54 records aggregate page views, software-page interest, external distribution-button clicks, broad traffic-source categories, referring host without its path or query string, and basic device class: desktop, mobile, or tablet.

If you use the contact form, you provide a name, email address, and message. The website sends that information to Beacon54 by email so it can be read and answered.

Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The public website does not provide user accounts, on-site checkout, or advertising tracking. Beacon54 analytics do not store raw IP addresses, raw visitor-cookie values, contact-form contents, precise location, or advertising identifiers. They do not use browser fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, or individual visitor profiles.

This statement describes the Beacon54 website. An individual software product may have different technical needs, which will be disclosed in a separate product policy when applicable.

How We Use Information

Information handled by the website is used to operate and secure the site, respond to messages, understand aggregate interest in Beacon54 pages and software, measure visits to external distribution destinations, diagnose problems, and improve the website.

Third-Party Services

Beacon54 relies on service providers for website hosting and email delivery. Those providers may process information needed to deliver their services under their own terms and privacy policies.

Software pages may link to an external store, download provider, or other distribution destination. Once you follow an external link, that provider's privacy practices and terms apply. Beacon54 does not control those external services.

Cookies and Analytics

Beacon54 automatically uses privacy-conscious first-party site analytics on eligible public requests. Analytics records Page Views and uses a first-party anonymous browser identifier to report Unique Visitors. Its random value contains no name, email address, IP address, user-agent data, or other personal information. The server stores only a keyed one-way digest of that value and uses it to count a returning browser once within an analytics reporting period.

The visitor cookie expires 180 days after it is first issued and is not renewed on returning visits. Analytics records are retained for 180 days and then removed by a controlled cleanup process. Historical weekly estimates remain separate from current Unique Visitors reporting.

The cookie is used only for aggregate site statistics, not advertising, cross-site tracking, browser fingerprinting, or individual visitor profiles. Different browsers or devices can count separately, so Unique Visitors represents distinct anonymous browsers rather than an exact count of people.

You may stop analytics collection at any time using the opt-out below. Opting out removes the anonymous visitor identifier and saves a preference that prevents subsequent analytics events. You may also clear or block cookies in your browser, or enable DNT or Global Privacy Control. Public pages and external software links continue to work without analytics.

The opt-out preference is a necessary first-party cookie retained for one year so Beacon54 can remember the choice. Clearing that preference withdraws the saved opt-out, after which automatic analytics can resume on the next eligible visit. Authenticated CMS administrators, recognized crawler user agents, and development hosts under panicforge.com are excluded automatically.

Consent and analytics requirements vary by jurisdiction. Beacon54's first-party implementation and opt-out controls do not, by themselves, establish compliance with every law that may apply to a particular audience.

Data Sharing

Beacon54 does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the website and deliver requested communications, or when required by law, needed to protect rights or systems, or necessary to address abuse or security threats.

Children's Privacy

The Beacon54 website is not designed to solicit personal information from children. Beacon54 does not knowingly use the website to collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact Beacon54 through the website's Contact page.

Data Retention

Analytics event and visitor-day records are retained for 180 days, after which a controlled cleanup process removes expired records. The analytics visitor cookie has a fixed maximum lifetime of 180 days, and the opt-out preference is retained for one year. Analytics reports cannot reconstruct traffic or Unique Visitors after detailed records pass that retention boundary.

The Beacon54 application database does not store contact-form messages. Sending and receiving mail systems may retain messages and ordinary delivery logs according to their operational policies. Web-hosting systems may retain technical and security logs according to their operational requirements.

Data Security

Beacon54 uses reasonable technical and operational safeguards appropriate to the information it handles. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

International Users

If you access the website or a Beacon54 product from another jurisdiction, information may be processed where Beacon54 and its service providers operate. Privacy and consent requirements vary by jurisdiction, and a product-specific policy may provide additional information where required.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Beacon54's practices, products, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.

Questions about this Privacy Policy or Beacon54's information practices may be sent through the website's Contact page.
